We Have a Winner!

Thank you so much to all of you who entered my Blogoversary Giveaway! :)  This morning, Beast'sbelle helped me write down all of your names on slips of paper.  She let me borrow one of her smaller mixing bowls for the drawing.

Here are all of the names in the bowl!

Of course, a "small" bowl for Beast'sbelle was still pretty big for me! ;)

I reached in to pick one of the names (without looking, of course!).  It was hard to reach in without falling in instead! :}

I rummaged through the slips of paper for a while, and finally selected one.  And the name I chose was...

Madeline!! :)

Congratulations, Madeline!  I'll be emailing you soon with the official news.

Madeline is one of my readers from the U.S., so there will not be another drawing for Pascal.  Madeline will have one week to respond to my email with her mailing address.  If I don't hear from her by then, I'll let all of you know and do another drawing a week or so from now.

Once again, thank you to everyone who entered, and thank you for all of the love and support you've shown me in this past year of blogging.  I can't wait to see what the next year holds! :D

Congrats to Madeline !

On a slightly different subject, Belle, I just have to say I absolutely adore your pink dress. Pink is my favourite colour, I know it might not be very Cinderella-ish, but I'm not her after all. Anyway, If you dont mind me asking where did you get such a lovely gown ? As I would love to find one to add to my vast wardrobe of clothes. Oooh I simply love it ?

Luv,

Ella x

Hi Ella, I wish I could help you on the dress, but it's one that Beast'sbelle found at a thrift store. :} I know it's made by Mattel for Barbie, but other than that I can't help you out.

I felt a bit daring wearing this dress, as I usually stick to the dresses from the original Belle's movie. It made for a nice change, though. I may have to branch out and wear different dresses more often! ;)

Just to let everyone know, Madeline has responded to my email, so there will not be another drawing.

Thanks for the reply Belle, you still managed to give me enough clues to figure out what Barbie the dress originally came on. So i will be keeping my eye on ebay to see if I can find one for myself ... I hope you dont mind ?!

I have branched out beyond my Cinderella gowns for a while now, its actually quite liberating, especially in helping to shake the shadow of our namesakes that almost appears to follow us around, sometimes feeling like its trying to strangle our individiality. I have Barbie dresses and ones from verying other Disney movies, including a few from Beauty and the Beast too !

I know clothes really aren't your thing, well not in a passionate way like they are with me. I am sure your friend Isabella and I would get on famously with our similar passions for fashion. But I would definitley recommend trying other non-Belle dresses, I'm sure you'll find it just as liberating as I do !

Luv,

Ella x

Hi Ella,

I don't mind at all! :) I think you'd look great in it.

I do see your point about branching out to other dresses, too. We are individuals, after all. I just don't know how Beast'sbelle will do...she's a bit of a purist when it comes to her dolls. ;)

It sounds like you and Isabella have a lot in common. We all love her dearly, but none of us are as into fashion as she is! I'm sure she'd appreciate knowing there's another clothing fashionista out there. :)

Have a great week! :D

Hi Belle,

Just a quick message to let you know I managed to find the dress for sale over her in the UK ! Ooooh I cant wait until it arrives, and with any luck you will see me wearing it in one of my blog updates over the next week or so ;o).

Thanks again for helping to point me in the right direction.

Luv,

Ella x

p.s. I get what you mean about he purist thing, Holly is the same when it comes to her display dolls. Luckily as I am not one of them, and have pretty much a free run of the whole house etc, I dont think she really minds at all what I wear. But that may be just because she doesn't pay enough attention to what's going on with me hehehe ! Well, I guess I cant expect too much from her, she is only human after all ;o)

Hi Ella,

I'm glad you found the dress! :) Can't wait to see pics.

I find the things Beast'sbelle frets about rather humorous sometimes. I think she's getting a bit better at going with the flow, though. We'll see. I saw Ike making eyes at Rowena earlier this week. Not sure how Beast'sbelle will react to a BEAST/PRINCE doll paring up with a RAPUNZEL. ;)

Talk to you again soon!

Hello again Belle,

I haven't had a chance to wear my new pink dress yet, things have been a little hectic this week with planning the wedding. I have been trying to choose my wedding dress, but so far haven't found anything that feels like me. Most of the dresses I tried seemed far too overdone, and weren't quite as elegant and classy as I was hoping for. Oh well hopefully something will turn up, as I haven't got long left now ... Oh I forgot to say didn't I, whilst we haven't set an exact date yet, Rocky and I are planning on December when the Christmas decorations are up, but hopefully not too close to Christmas. We will sort of have to wait until Holly puts the festive deccys up to properly finalise our date, but you never know there is a chance by this time next month, I might be a married doll just like you !

Anyway, back on to the exciting stuff. Ooooh that sounds intriguing about Ike and Rowena ! I'm sure Beast'sbelle will come around to the idea if anything does happen, or its quite possible she may not notice, you know how unobservant these humans can be. Plus when you think about it, at least they are both Disney dolls ! One of my sisters, my twin in fact, still does not approve or Rocky, she seems to think he's beneith me beacuse he's a Ken doll rather than a Disney Prince. Plus even though I am a play doll, she is a display doll, so also appears to take offence that he is a used doll who is 29 years older than myself. I still dont get why it bugs her so ? I mean, I'm not asking her to marry the guy am I. But I guess you cant chose your family can you, although in this case I think I'd much rather trade her in for someone else hehehe.

I have been suspecting a secret romance going on under our noses in my doll household too, as my friends Blanche and Jackson have been seeming rather cosy together just recently. Although the pair of them are both painfully shy and would never admit it, but I still have my suspicions about them hehehe ;o)

I hope all is well with you, Robby, and your doll friends ? And dont forget to let me know if anything else happens on the Ike & Rowena front ... oooh new potential romances are sooo exciting !

Bye for now,

Ella x

Thanks for writing, Ella. It was wonderful to check the blog today and have something other than spam in my comments! Ever since Beast'sbelle removed the "word verification" thing on our comments, I've been getting a ton of spam. It's sooo frustrating!! :{

I'm sorry you're having difficulties finding the perfect dress. I know how important it is to have one that feels just right for your special day. I hope you find something soon. :)

A Christmas wedding sounds lovely! :D I can't wait to see pics. :)

As far as Ike and Rowena, um, I'm pretty sure Beast'sbelle will notice. She likes to micromanage. A lot. ;) But that's okay. I'm sure she'll come around, like you said. And I think it does help that they're both Disney dolls.

I'm sorry your sister doesn't approve of Rocky. Isn't it silly how petty we dolls can be sometimes? ;) Maybe something will happen to change her mind...maybe Rocky will have to save her from a burning building or something and then she'll realize just how kind her is, no matter how long he's been around, and in spite of the fact that he's non-Disney. ;)

It is fun when your friends start getting interested in one another, isn't it? ;) I sometimes find myself longing to be as much of a matchmaker as Beast'sbelle. Robby just shakes his head and rolls his eyes when I start talking about who would make a cute couple. ;) I do have to watch that tendency, though. I still remember how awkward it was when Beast'sbelle tried to "strongly encourage" Robby and I to get together when he first came. We had to take our time and find our love on our own. That's what I wish for all of my friends.

We're all doing well, thank you for asking. :) Things have been a bit hectic around here, as Beast'sbelle is in the middle of a ton of eBay sales. We've pretty much been confined to our spot on top of the curio...there are dolls and toys piled everywhere, waiting to be boxed up and shipped off to their new homes. The last of the auctions are supposed to end this weekend, and then we should be done! What a relief that will be. :} I'm hoping to have another post up sometime next week...I know everyone has been waiting.

Talk to you again soon! :)

I also loved your dress! It is beautiful! Do you know where Beast'sbelle found it? Sorry if you already answered that question somewhere and I didnt see haha :)

beastsbelle said...

No problem, Elliebob. :) It was a thrift store special that Beast'sbelle found, so I don't know where it was originally from. I do know it was put out by Mattel for the Barbie line. Hope this helps! :)

LOVE the dress, Belle!!! :D

I absolutely adore it when you wear something special for your different posts- my Ariel can be a bit of a fashionista sometimes and I know she loves it, too!

beastsbelle said...

Thanks so much, MyLittleMegara. This one was a Goodwill find. Beast'sbelle does love finding a good bargain! ;) I really love the color of this dress, too. :)

Hello to Ariel! ;)

Ariel says hi back. :)

I want to chip in that finding good bargains is an important skill to have for any collector of anything- Ariel herself was actually from a local consignment shop! She was in beautiful shape and came with two dresses (well, a pink dress and a mermaid outfit) and I found a nearby Tiana in Ariel's blue day dress. I plan on making the Tiana a OOAK. Additionally, I have found some of my more rare dolls (Giselle, Kida, etc) through a combination of scouring thrift stores and eBay. I'll never forget walking past a row of dolls and seeing something pink that turned out to be Giselle. I almost didn't stop, and yet- there she was, a rare Enchanted doll for only $4.50! With her original dress and in very good shape- her flower wreath is all gone except one and her hair is a little matted, but she is clean and lovely! :D

Ariel wanted me to tell you that she also loves the blue/green dress from a Rapunzel outfit set that you wore when you were riding horses.

beastsbelle said...

It sounds like you've provided a good home for a lot of lonely dolls, MyLittleMegara. Bravo! ;)

You can tell Ariel thank you for me. :)
