Slow Going

Hello, my dearest readers.  I know things have been rather quiet on my end for a while, but to be honest, not much has happened since the last time I wrote.

We're slowly getting settled in our new little home, although we've been having trouble finding just the right furniture for it.  Beast'sbelle says she's been keeping an eye out at the thrift stores in town, but nothing has caught her eye yet.

We're still hoping to find some more comfortable seating and a shelf to replace the rather large dresser in the middle of the room.

On the plus side, Beast'sbelle was able to find several toys for Emilie's side of the room.  Ironically, Emilie's very favorite is the "Beauty and the Beast" themed dollhouse and dolls that Beast'sbelle found her.  It's similar to a "Polly Pocket" playset which apparently was popular with you humans back in the 80s and 90s, long before I was around.  It certainly makes a perfect dollhouse for our girl. :)  She's spent hours playing with it.

She's also enjoyed carrying her Beast and Belle dolls all around with her.  She told me that the Belle doll reminded her of me.  Gracious, I hope my face paint is a bit better than that.  Thankfully, she hasn't told Robby that the Beast reminds her of him. ;)

I took a moment to admire her dollhouse one day and I must admit that it is amazingly detailed.  I can see why she likes it so much.

Best of all, when playtime is done, she can close it all up so it takes up less space.  It's still so odd seeing a picture of "me" on the lid. ;)

And as you can see from the picture above, Beast'sbelle had a few other little trinkets to fill Emilie's shelves.  I think Beast'sbelle has been having as much fun finding toys as Emilie has had playing with them. ;)

We had another horrendous heatwave last week.  It was so bad that Beast'sbelle and her girls left the house and stayed with her mother and father, who have something called "central air".  I was so grateful that we'd been moved away from the full heat of the window.  Even so, it was still miserable.  The temperatures have cooled down considerably this week, but Robby is still recovering from the effects of the extreme weather.  Ben has prescribed lots of fluids and lots of rest.  Now that Robby's starting to feel better, he's getting pretty restless.  I'll just be glad when the worst of the summer heat is over and our lives can be somewhat normal again.

There's not much more to tell at this point.  We're slowly waiting for furniture, slowly waiting for Robby to recover...slowly waiting for anything exciting to happen.  Just thought you'd like to know I was still alive and all. ;)

Until next time, dear readers. :)

Hello Belle!

My dolls and I love hearing the "mundane" daily details of your lives.

Emilie's dollhouse is wonderful! Does she know that you and Robby are representations of the other Belle and her beloved?

Long ago my little daughter came into our room in the morning and said, "Mommy Beauty!" One of my favorite compliments...

Hope your weather improves. Take care!

Thank you, Desert Lily. :) I'm glad even the everyday events I record are interesting to somebody. ;)

It's funny...I hadn't even thought about it until after I published the post, but I guess we never have discussed with Emilie that Robby and I are modeled after Beauty and the Beast. I suppose that's a conversation we'll have someday. ;)

What a sweet compliment from your daughter! :) Isn't it amazing how something like that from your child's lips can brighten your day?

Thanks...I hope our weather gets cooler soon too! Robby is going stir-crazy. :}

Dear Belle,
Several posts ago you told your readers that Ben had met someone new but you never told us who. No offence but I'm dying of curiosity. Do you think Ben may have found true love? Or did things fizzle out?

Anonymous, to be honest, I'm dying of curiosity too!! I did see him with someone a while back but haven't had a chance to see him with her again since then. :{ And when he was over to help Robby with his joint problems, I couldn't muster up enough courage to ask. I don't want to be nosy or anything.

As soon as I know anything more, I'll let all of you know. :)

IHi Belle,
I'm sad that your blog is coming to an end, you can't do this to me and my dolls. :( We'll miss you terribly! Especially my Rapunzel, she's always waiting for an update. (After reading Beastsbelle review post about her I had to get the 2011 version.)
What happen to Robby? Have you mentioned it in a earlier post? Poor Robby I wish he was feeling better. Can't Beastsbelle help by giving him a new body?

Hi Sunny, I'm sorry to disappoint you and your dolls. :} I'm just feeling so overwhelmed keeping up with things...I hope everyone will be able to understand.

I'm assuming you know about Robby's initial injury from over a year ago, but just in case you don't, here's a link to copy and paste: http://belles-bulletins.blogspot.com/2011/12/robby.html

Ever since then, his injury tends to flare up when he overextends himself or is exposed to extreme weather conditions. The newest flare up began on our anniversary. You can read about it here: http://belles-bulletins.blogspot.com/2013/06/our-first-anniversary.html

As far as a body swap, while I shudder to think of Robby going through the process, but if it would help I'd agree to it in a heartbeat. Unfortunately, Beast'sbelle has already looked into it and told us that she hasn't found a body that would be compatible with Robby's head. (Ugh, saying that out loud sounds so dreadful!) Beast'sbelle has also never done a 100% successful male doll body swap, which makes us a bit hesitant to jump on the bandwagon, so to speak. ;)

Thanks so much for your concern. :)

I read Beast'sbelle's blog and saw that you met Raven.

What'd you think? What'd Rapunzel think? Did you just see her for a sec and leave? Am I asking too many questions? Sorry if I am--and if you don't have any good answers too my infinite amount of questions--I got Raven today and was curious. Sorry.

Hey Belle I just wanted to say your face paint is MUCH better than Emily's doll! Oh and by the way I've been looking for a Belle doll like you because I'm an only child and want someone to talk to, could you ask Beastsbelle where I could find one?

Poppy.

That Beauty and the Beast Polly Pocket is just too priceless :)

And what's this about the blog coming to an end??!!

Hannah Prewett (beastsbelle) said...

Hi, Rose Grace. Yes, we did meet Raven and Maddie. I'm actually going to save that for an upcoming post, so you'll have to wait a little bit longer to hear my thoughts. ;)

Thank you, Poppy. I'm relieved. ;)

I talked to Beast'sbelle, and she said that the Disney Store is no longer making dolls like me, so you have to find one on eBay. She said to try looking up "Disney Store Belle Doll 2010", but that sometimes the sellers don't know the date, so the 2010 might not help. I don't know what half of that means, but hopefully it will help you. ;)

Thank you, Heather. Emilie's really been enjoying it. :)

I guess you missed my previous post. I explain my future plans for the blog there: http://belles-bulletins.blogspot.com/2013/06/this-past-month-and-what-future-holds.html
